Nafela Helou
Founding Attorney
Nafela has honed a deep understanding of the intricacies of employment law and its impact on individuals and businesses alike. Her comprehensive knowledge of federal and state employment regulations, combined with a keen eye for detail, enables her to assist her clients in matters spanning all elements of the employment relationship: from recruitment to termination and everything in between.
Nafela is more than just an attorney. Knowing that she wanted to stand above her peers and offer exceptional, practical advice, Nafela pursued a Masters of Business Administration in addition to her law degree. This synergistic quality elevates Nafela’s ability to craft solutions for clients that are customized, creative, and cost-effective.
She has spent her career working with the largest companies and brands in the world, which inspired her to start her own firm to offer her employment law expertise to startups and small businesses that want to optimize their current positions or forge paths that lead to enterprise-level growth, as well as to employees who need a voice when facing challenging workplace issues.
Before founding Helou Law, Nafela was an attorney in larger firms where she focused her practice on human resources operations, employment counseling, EEOC and administrative proceedings, employment litigation, and more.
Nafela is a driven, dependable, and creative legal mind whose life has been rooted in entrepreneurship since she was a child. As the daughter of entrepreneurs who turned a single store into a nationally successful company, she knows what it takes to build and protect a business. And since you have given it your all to achieve your dreams, let Nafela ensure that those dreams thrive through personalized employment law and labor management solutions.
Nafela has been named a Best Lawyer in Employment Law every year since she became eligible and has been ranked as one of the top 50 employment attorneys in the country, but the most important opinion to her is that of her clients. For that reason, Nafela works tirelessly for her clients’ best interests, and is excited to bring that excellence to her clients in a unique format.
Outside of the law, Nafela enjoys spending time with her husband, Georges, and two young daughters, playing tennis, and enjoying the evolving food scene that her hometown of Atlanta has to offer.
Erin Whitlock
Director, EmployEase
Paralegal
Erin found herself in law by chance. Out of high school, Erin studied Risk Management and Insurance at the University of Georgia. She had started to pursue a second degree in Accounting when she took a summer job at one of the top boutique employment firms in the country. What started as a summer job turned into a career where Erin uses her unique background to advocate for clients. Erin’s attention to detail offers clients assurance that matters she works on are handled effectively and efficiently.
While Erin started by filing documents and answering the phone, she quickly became involved in a collective-action case. She dove into the case head first, speaking with clients, working with damage calculations, and using her strengths to excel in a way she didn’t know that she could. Since that first case, Erin has assisted in numerous trials, arbitrations, mediations, and union campaigns and elections.
Erin has never looked back from that 2013 summer internship. She has developed a passion for the legal profession. Ten years later, she has developed a deep appreciation for the hard work and dedication that it takes to manage a workforce. From cost calculations to client relations, every day presents new challenges to conquer. Her practicality and cool logic uniquely equip her to find and enact solutions to those challenges, and she’s delighted do that for our clients.
Outside of the law, Erin is dedicated to her community. She serves as a member of the Junior League of Coweta County.
